Welcome to ISBS
With an aim to foster the academic excellence among the scholars and admirers of Buddhist Studies and its allied disciplines, Professor Baidyanath Labh initiated the idea and established Indian Society for Buddhist Studies, a platform for the academic deliberations, discussion and debate on the teachings of the founder of Buddhism. Since its very inception, the ISBS has been engaged in the propagation of Buddhist Studies as an academic discipline in the Indian universities and colleges, and other research institutions, besides highlighting the significance of the Buddha’s humanistic message. Needless to say, the ISBS has created active interest amongst the scholars towards Buddhist learning and has helped Buddhist Studies to develop as a frontline academic discipline in India.
